Point of view: Fruits Basket has a 3rd omniscient point of view. The narrator is Tohru, the main character in the story.
Plot summary: Tohur Honda, a young girl whos mother died not too long ago, was sent to live with her grandfather who told her that she would have to find another place to stay while his house was being remodeled ends up living with on her own in a tent in the middle of the woods. She is later discovered by the land owners who take her in and care for her. Little does Tohur know, these kind strangers have a big secret.
Major Conflicts: Some of the conflicts in this story are Yuki and Kyo's constant fights that usually don't end well for either of them, or anyone else for that matter. Another conflict would be Tohru dealing with the pressure of keeping the family secret. The biggest conflict in this story is Tohru falling in love with both Yuki and Kyo. Her having to choose between them is her toughest decision.
Tohru
Protagonist/Antagonist: Tohru is a kind and caring young girl who always seems to be smiling. She cares for everyone around her and wants everyone to be happy. Though, her inner self can be considered as an antagonist, simply because of her thoughts and decisions she has to make, she is still the protagonist.
Yuki
Minor character: Yuki or "Prince Charming" as many of the girls at his school refer to him as, is a seriously young man who has a low tolerance for Kyo. Though Yuki is very strong and fights constantly with Kyo, he has a soft spot for Tohru.
Shigure
Minor character: Shingure can be more of a joker, he likes to mess around and have fun, but if something isn't going quite right, he becomes very serious. Shingure enjoys having Tohru live with him, Yuki, and Kyo.
Kyo
Minor character: Kyo is very short tempered and almost always takes kind guestures offensively. He is always angry and always looking for a fight with Yuki. Yuki is Kyo's rival and he has always dreamed of defeating him. Kyo even spent time in the mountains training in hopes of beating Yuki in a fight.
